Dry Dock Safety Company Applying the Principles of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001
- ISO 9001:2015 — quality management
- ISO 14001:2015 — environmental management
- ISO 45001:2018 — occupational health and safety management
This integration reduces duplicated effort and, as a result, allows us to develop procedures that address the specific needs of each discipline.

Our Team
Our staff come from a wide range of backgrounds, giving us strong expertise across many types of environments. Specifically, our team is organized into three main categories:
- Firefighters
- Occupational health and safety professionals
- Maritime experts
Combined, this expertise allows us to deliver the highest possible level of quality to our clients. See our full range of HSE services to learn how this expertise applies to your project.
Fire & Tank Watchers
Every watcher meets the following standard. Each one is fully equipped for their task and holds the certification required to perform their job. In addition, they receive study material they must master to pass our interview assessment, and their supervisor briefs them individually on emergency procedures, the permit to work they’re responsible for, and the Safe Systems of Work for their area.
Minimum Knowledge Required
- Good proficiency in English or better
- Basic fire physics
- Mechanical and physical hazards
- Fundamentals of the risk reduction hierarchy
- Tasks and hazards specific to dry dock work
- Fundamentals of Safe Systems of Work, risk assessment, and permits to work
- Fire-fighting systems and alarm trigger mechanisms
- Basic knowledge of confined spaces
- Emergency procedures
- Use of radio communication devices
We assess these qualifications through one-on-one job interviews prior to employment, and we provide study material to support that preparation. Learn more about how we prepare our fire and tank watchers.
Fastest Response Time
We are committed to offering the fastest possible response time for every service request. To achieve this, we developed a profile system where each employee keeps their availability updated in real time.
Thanks to this system, we can confirm a small team within an hour of your call, and a larger team within one day. However, this response time applies only to French territory; for other countries, an additional legal assessment may be required before confirming the team.
Experience
As a dry dock safety company, our staff bring years of experience in occupational health and safety applied to vessels, including certified STCW training, confined space work, and other specialised exercises.
Because we operate internationally, we adapt quickly to different working environments, both within and outside the maritime industry. That said, our core focus remains dry docks: particularly dynamic environments, with a wide range of hazards and risks that make them demanding. We also, however, work on other types of sites.
Transparency
Before you engage with us, we share as much information as possible about our systems of work, including:
- Our templates for the different types of permits to work
- Certificates and a short biography of the staff providing your health and safety service
We also answer any questions about our approach to health and safety on your site, based on the hazards and risks identified.
Staff Retention and Development
A large portion of our staff work as fire or confined space watchers on dry docks. Over the years, we have observed a high turnover rate among other OHS companies in the industry, usually for two reasons.
Lack of motivation. When promotions aren’t based on equal opportunity, entry-level staff see no real path forward through effort. That’s why, at Jacquot Health & Safety, we promote based on skills and knowledge, not nationality or personal relationships. Our goal is for every entry-level employee to be able to become an occupational health and safety professional.
Unsafe or unhealthy working conditions. We have heard employees from other companies describe unhealthy working environments, feeling that “it’s not worth risking your health for the pay offered.” We are committed to maintaining a high level of moral responsibility, offering not just safety but as healthy an environment as reasonably possible.
Our Health and Safety Policy is public, and it clearly reflects the responsibilities and expectations of both our entry-level staff and management. We are committed to protecting the health and safety of our entire team, beyond the minimum legal obligations.
